snow

When I moved to Arizona, I knew the area I was coming to would get snow. I didn’t realize how beautiful it would be.

This picture is just around the corner from me, from Saturday morning. It’s the best of snow. I can see how beautiful it is and I don’t need to shovel.

There is beauty all around us, we just need to open our eyes and see.

I haven’t always appreciated snow. I had to start thinking differently about it and noticing the beauty with it, even knowing I would have to go shovel the snowstorm outside. Yes, that was in Wisconsin. I’m pretty sure I won’t be needing my snow shovel here.

Why am I telling you this?

When you fight against something, or when you complain about something, over and over, it only gets worse. Have you ever heard the saying “what you resist, persists”? Once I stopped resisting (the snow), I could see the beauty in it and it really didn't annoy me as much.

Look at your day and see what you you may be resisting. If you say nothing, then look at what you complain or whine about. If you say nothing, look at your thoughts and see what your having negative thoughts about. And if you say nothing again, I might encourage you to ask a friend.

Now that you are aware, that’s half of it right there. Now turn it around.

  • Notice what you are resisting.
  • Breathe and accept it.
  • Look how you can change your negative thoughts to more positive ones.
  • When you catch yourself whining or complaining, stop and shift your thinking. You can always ask a friend for help with this one. 🙂
  • Now turn your focus on something you appreciate. There is always something you can find to appreciate.

Enjoy the winter wonderland around you.

Angel Blessings to you.
