crystalsHowdy Peeps!

I've been wanting to do a blog on competition for a while and today the Angels gave me the go ahead.

Is competition a bad thing or a good thing? What if it were just a thing. Depending on the intent you put behind it – determines whether it has a positive or negative feel to it. If you're having a friendly game to hone your skills, that's very different than going out to win no matter what the cost.

Even if you are honing your skills, does there need to be competition?

Anytime the word compete or competition comes up it conjures up a winner and a loser. One person being better, faster, smarter (and the list goes on) than the other in some aspects. The truth of the matter is, we are all unique and what each of us brings to the table is just a bit different. You and I may know the exact same 'technical skill' but how we deliver it, with our own unique style is what makes the difference.

Competition brings out the best in products and the worst in people.
~David Sarnoff

What would happen if we followed the advice in this next quote and all cooperated?

Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and no further, but cooperation, which is the thing we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off.
~Franklin D Roosevelt

I vote for cooperation from the start, skip the competition all together. 🙂

If you look at the picture above, which of the crystals is better than the other? OK, good answer – none of them is better than the other, they are just different. Each one has a different shape, though they are all the same type crystal. Each may have a specialty for what they do, but they would each be unique in that specialty simply because of their shape.

So competition between these crystals wouldn't even make sense, would it…

Let's go one step further and look at the crystals with cooperation in mind.

Maybe each crystal has it's own function but they must cooperate and work together for the most effective healing to occur. Hmmm, isn't that an interesting way of looking at things.

Here's is another quote that really says it all. I think the key to this one is 'your'.

Do your work with your whole heart, and you will succeed – there's so little competition.
~Elbert Hubbard

Here's what the Angels have to say about competition:

Be there for each other, lend a hand to another. Don't step on another to get places, but hold your hand out to bring them along. Don't shut the door in their face but open it and hold it for them to arrive. Be who you are meant to be, not what you think others want of you. Be you! The more you are you, the other falls away.

Angel Blessings to you!
