How often to you daydream?
Do you ever set aside time to just stare off into space and see what thoughts come through? Or do you pick a topic and give yourself time to see what journey the topic will lead you on?
Why don’t we daydream more often?
- Not enough time
- It’s a waste of time
- I’m not sure what to daydream about
- It’s too frivolous, I need to be doing something…
I would challenge you to see if you can find 5 minutes in the next week to daydream. You could really challenge yourself and see if you can find 5 minutes every day. 🙂
Sit down someplace where you won’t be interrupted. You can close your eyes or leave them open.
If you aren’t sure what to daydream about, here are some ideas:
- A vacation you have been on
- A vacation you’d like to go on
- A time in your childhood that you were having the time of your life – maybe a birthday party or time with your friends
- What you would be doing if you had all the time in the world and money was no object
Give yourself this time.
A great time to daydream is when you are feeling stressed. You’ll come back refreshed.
Daydreaming gets your creative juices flowing. Have fun with it.
I’d love to hear how your daydreaming challenge went. Let me know in the comments section below.
Angel Blessings to you.

I always like to look at the window and just day dream and see where the adventure takes me.
Then of course I have to come back to reality! It’s fun and refreshing.
Thank you Denys – fun and refreshing! Exactly! 🙂
Everyday! Each morning I take time to sit in my living room and look out into the world and just be with my thoughts in nature! For me it feels wonderful to begin my day in this manner. Really like your idea of picking a dream and taking the time to ponder on it. Best Regards, Wendy {UBC}
Awesome Wendy. What a great way to start the day!! Thank you for sharing.
I clearly do not daydream enough! I will take on doing more daydreaming!
Does not surprise me Miss Stacey – yes, daydream more 🙂
I totally agree. Day dreaming get’s your creative juices flowing!
Woo Hoo! Come on creativity!
OK, I will try to switch off. 5 minutes ia a week is not a lot to ask! 🙂
You’re funny Michelle. Maybe try 5 minutes this week and 5 minutes 2x next week 🙂
I’m a big daydreamer – 5 minutes a day is just not enough 🙂 It’s an enjoyable micro-vacation!
Good for you Miss Louise!
I like to day dream when I am stressed. It calms me down. I especially like to day dream when I can’t sleep. I think of the things that make me feel happy.
Happy daydreams as you drift off to sleep are perfect Arleen. They help you sleep better and have happy dreams.
