I just read a Facebook post talking about silence. I think silence is an underrated and underutilized commodity.
When we're kids our parents tell us to 'hush' or 'be quiet' but that's just the start of 'silence'. And you may be having a 'silent moment' in your head with the world still going on busily around you.
There are many levels of silence, no one more important than the other. I think you'll get what you need when you take the time to experience it.
- Sitting quietly, you not making any noise and being in a quiet location
- Sitting with your eyes closed in contemplation
- Sitting quietly, watching your thoughts slowly drift away to nothingness
- Sitting quietly, no thoughts and watching for the guidance of your next step
- Sitting quietly, listening to the guidance you are receiving
Silence may mean something totally different to you or maybe a combination of things.
Do you take time out of your day for silence? Even if it were 2 minutes, 5 minutes, it would be beneficial.
Today, in between meetings or just before you drive home from work, or maybe just after you arrive home, take 5 minutes and go be in the silence. It's a wonderful place to experience.
