I’ve been listening to the wind blowing through the trees outside. It’s a gentle breeze, enough to move the leaves so they make that rustling noise. It’s a comforting feeling somehow. Maybe because it’s a familiar sound, something I would hear in WI. I wasn’t expecting I would be able to hear this wonderful sound just outside my office window and I am grateful for it.
The song ‘Blowing in the Wind’ comes to mind, especially the chorus:
The answer, my friend,
Is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
Wind does have the answers sometimes. If you pay attention to it, it will pick up or subside at just the right time, as if confirming what you were just thinking.
When you are searching for answers, trust the answer will come. I’m not talking about questions such as ‘what was the score of last night’s game’. 🙂 I’m talking about ‘what’s the meaning of life’ type questions. Those questions that leave us scratching our head at times.
But when you ask the question and then have the patience, and faith and trust the answer will be there. It really will. Many times in ways you would not have imagined. Maybe it's:
- a song on the radio with just the answer you’ve been looking for
- in a phrase you overhear from the conversation at the next table in a restaurant
- on the trail in front of you
- on a page in the book that just fell off the shelf in front of you
When we are living in the moment, paying attention to what is around us, the songs, the conversations, the animals, paying attention to this NOW moment, that is when the answers will come.
We don’t know where they will come from. We just have to trust they will be there when we ask the question.
A friend of mine is always looking for the proverbial ‘burning bush’. When having a deep conversation with a new friend, she mentioned this to them. The comment in return was, ‘well you know they call me Burning Bush’.
The day before I gave my 'retirement' notice, I was driving on the beltline, looked up and the only 2 words on the billboard said 'Retire Today'.
Next time you have a life question, put it out to the Universe, out to the wind and watch and listen for the answers. We may not get a burning bush, and we may not see a billboard, but pay attention. Because, the answer my friend, is blowing in the wind.
Angel Blessings to you.
