I was chatting with someone the other day and the topic of our Loved Ones came up. She was talking about her mother passing and as many of you know, my mom passed a very long time ago.
They were telling me of the ‘celebration’ they had after the passing.
This is a wonderful way to look at the passing of our Loved Ones. Celebrating their physical life, talking about the stories we have of time we shared with them. They are right there listening in on all the wonderful things we have to say.
It reminded me of the 30 year anniversary of my mom’s passing. I took the day to celebrate her – of the places I remembered going with her and my brothers. It was a wonderful day and a way of letting her know I miss her, I love her, she’s always with me in my thoughts. When I arrived home that night I lit a special candle for her.
People honor the day of their Loved One’s passing in different ways. I chose to celebrate her life while she was here in the physical.

Thank you, Sue, for posting this. My Dad died when I was 16. Every year, on his anniversary, I made a special point to think of him, especially at 8pm, the time he passed away. One year, within the week before his anniversary, I had two watches (batteries) go dead, plus the digital clock in my car went dead. The night of his anniversary, I was coming out of a night class. I realized with my watches both dead and my clock in my car dead, I'd be driving home on the expressway, not knowing when it was actually 8pm. All of a sudden, while driving, the clock in my car flashed 8:00 p.m.! It stayed on long enough for me to see it, then it went dark again. Thank you, Dad! You're right, they're always with us!
