Life is all about the choices we make starting from a very young age. According to Ask.com, there are studies that say the average human makes about 612 decisions in a single day which equals 254,800 per year. Someone else piped in and said thousands of decisions in a day. I tend to agree with the thousands per day…
That’s a lot of decisions and even more choices.
We can choose to listen to our parents, to get good grades in school, to eat all of that food plus the dessert, to buy that thing, to be helpful, to be positive, or not.
There are many decisions we make that we don’t even realize we are making. We go through life not paying attention. We are on auto-pilot.
Did you drive to work the way you always do simply because you weren’t consciously making choices? Did you go through your morning routine the same without thinking simply because it’s what you always do?
Look at how many things we do automatically.
What if you decided (another choice) to go through life, consciously making choices. What would that look like? And how would you start?
What if you decided the choices you do make, you make with your heart instead of your head.
All right, back to ‘where do I start’. Pay attention to what you are thinking and to what you are doing. These are choices.
- Pay attention to the thoughts going through your head.
- Look at the actions. What are you doing right now.
- Do you have a ‘feeling’ that goes along with it?
- Where do you feel it in your body and is it a positive feeling or uncomfortable?
Have you ever made a decision and afterwards you realized it wasn’t the best choice. When you think back, you remembered you had a strange feeling in your gut. A part of you knew that wasn’t going to be the best decision but you ignored it and did it anyway.
Or, you made a decision that you knew was going to turn out awesome. You had a wonderfully warm feeling about it and you decided to go with the wonderful and warm feeling.
Your heart knows. Your mind likes to think it knows.
Start today. Pay attention. See what you’re thinking about. And when there’s a choice in front of you, see how it feels in your body.
Affirmations may help get you started:
- I choose to think positive thoughts.
- I choose to be happy.
- I choose to live from my heart.
- I choose to make the best decisions for the highest good of all.
Angel Blessings to you.
