I have started a habit of coming into my big chair in the living room to write my blogs. I don’t do it every day, but most times it seems like a great spot.
I have these beautiful little flowers that are just starting to appear on a couple of trees in the backyard. They aren’t open yet, but I’m sure they will be over the next few days. Spending time in your backyard is peaceful and life afirming, there are many flowers and plants to see and take care of, this is where Garden Sheds become very useful to store everything you need to maintain a garden and keep your mind at peace.
It’s funny because I can hear leaves moving outside. It’s the movement you hear when you know an animal is moving them. There are some birds that go under the bushes and push the leaves. You can hear them and sometimes even seeing the leaves flying. It’s funny.
See, I don’t even need to leave my comfy chair. I’ve even considered many of the outdoor structures
available so that when it gets a little warmer, I can move my chair outside and have it sit under a structure like a pergola and enjoy the garden in all its glory. 🙂
Today on my walk I came across the strangest looking pods. I’m sure they will soon be beautiful flowers. I will have to make a point of going back to the same place and watching as they burst and transform into what they will be. It will be fun to see what they turn into.
What is the point of these? The point is, there are interesting things happening around you, if you only open your eyes and notice.
When you go for a walk, look at the plant growth around. There is always something interesting, something beautiful, happening at your feet.
When you are sitting in your backyard, or in your house looking out at your backyard, notice what’s going on.
Birds are digging for food, the lizards are running across the fence, the breeze is blowing slightly, There are new plants, new blooms, new sights, going on around you.
When you take time to notice these things, it may help you, and here’s how:
- You may smile because of the beauty.
- You may slow down to the pace of nature.
- You may feel refreshed because of the breeze.
- You may realize that all the worrying and hurrying you were doing isn’t needed.
- You may just be’ for a bit.
Enjoy life as it unfolds.
Angel Blessings to you.

I have a comfy recliner near my front window that overlooks my garden. My lilies are just starting to pop up, I love watching them grow a little every day!
Oh how awesome Diane! Spring is such a fun time.
I LOVE to notice the flora when I’m walking! Often makes me wish I had my camera – but have you tried to take photos with a wiggly dog on a leash? LOL I may try again today 😉
Wiggly dog, no. Flowers blowing in 20 mile winds, yes 🙂 And you always have such beautiful flower pictures!!
There’s nothing better than taking the time to enjoy life! Sometimes I just go sit on the back porch and listen to all that is happening – it is very relaxing.
Sounds like your big chair in your living room is a wonderful spot to be!
Yes, soon I’ll be out on the patio but for now, it’s the big chair that faces that way. I used to sit out on the deck in WI and listen. It was always amazing to me out of the 10 other backyards that were in close proximity of me, I was 98% of the time the ONLY one out there enjoying it. 🙂
What a beautiful post, Sue. I just love it! This is my first visit but I’m quite certain I’ll be back! Off now to take a walk in nature – the beach today, I think. Thanks for inspiring me.
🙂 I love the beach Susan. 🙂 Enjoy!
Very True! I am very lucky to have huge picture windows right across the back of my house, that looks out to a green space and as I go through my day when I need a break I go there to watch nature. It really does calm me and bring me joy! Thanks for the reminder. Best Regards, Wendy UBC http://wendybottrell.com
I’m glad you have a place that brings you calming and joy. They are both so needed in our lives. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
I wish I had a comfy chair with a view! No garden here, but one of my small pleasures in life is the morning walk with the pup. It’s usually quiet, just me, pup and birds singing. Simply lovely 🙂
Thanks for sharing your comfy chair for a while!
Thanks Jan. Morning walks with nature & the birds singing are quite awesome as well 🙂
Thanks for a lovely reminder to (occasionally!) slow down and enjoy life!
