“There’s something out of balance in your life, so do whatever you need to do to correct it.”

 

I thought I’d pull an Animal card* today and this one popped up. It really is a perfect card for the week of Thanksgiving (in the US anyway) and what has always felt like (for me anyway) the start of the Holiday season. 

 

It’s a time of year where many of us may over indulge with eating and / or  drinking, with laying around, with black Friday spending and shopping. Some of this may have already started and for many will continue. 

 

This is a reminder for all of us to be in balance – with everything, all aspects of our life. We can enjoy the wonderful food with friends and family and yet we do not need to eat until we are so full we cannot move. Black Friday can be a wonderful day when you go visit local and unique shops in your city or a city near-by.

 

Saturday I did just that – some window shopping with a friend to many local shops. I think out of the 10 or so we went into, it was my first time in about 9 of them. It was fun and we really did more window shopping then spending. And it was nice spending time with a friend.

 

Do something to bring yourself back in balance if you feel a bit out of sync. Here are just a few ideas:

 

  • Breathe –  I mean breathing so your cells are actually getting oxygen – other than the short breaths many of us take. This is something easy we can do throughout our day.
  • Water – Are you drinking enough water for you? This time of year is even dryer so it’s important to get the hydration.
  • Spend time with friends – Whether it’s eating together, window shopping, talking on the phone, or chatting through the computer, spend time with those you love and care about.
  • Enjoy – When you are sitting with friends or family or by yourself, enjoy life, enjoy the moment – be in the moment.
  • Get some fresh air – For some this may be more difficult than others, yet it is a good idea to get some fresh air and not just the re-cycled air in our homes. Allow the sun to shine on you and warm you up. Vitamin D is best straight from the sun!
