I’m sure you’ve all heard expressions similar to ‘start small’. Sometimes just that one small step forward is all you need to propel yourself in the direction you want to go.
This quote is also a great reminder that we may only be one person, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do something. One person can make a difference. Just start.
Are there things in your life that seem so enormous that you just don’t have any idea how to start? Did you know that many times if you take one small step, even gathering some supplies you need to start, that the Universe will take several steps to meet you?
If you have a project that seems so overwhelmingly huge, start small. Start with one small step, one thing you know to do.
Think of it the same way you would to cook a new recipe. First you gather the items you know you have on hand. There’s generally a couple of items you will have. And if no items in the recipe, maybe it’s the pan to make the recipe in.
Then you find out what you don’t have, or don’t know how to do, and make a list.
If this is your overwhelmingly huge project, you make a list of things you know you need to do and know how to do, and then you make your list of what you still need to find out.
This is also an invitation to the Universe to bring these items to you. Because as you are making your list, you are setting the intent that you need them.
The key to all of it, is to start small. The larger it seems, the smaller you may want to start.
And what you find with starting small is that you started and you will most likely start more things and more easily.
This applies to anything and everything. So go start something. 🙂 And remember, even though you are one person, you can make a difference.
Angel Blessings to you.

Empowerment 4 You
So true! The best way to beat overwhelm is to break it down into manageable tasks and just start doing them. There’s a quote I found about not knowing what is around the corner – so we keep putting one foot in front of the other and one day – we will turn around and find we have climbed the mountain. Thanks for this timely reminder. We can only reach our goals for 2013 if we take action on January 15, 2013!
Yes, action! 🙂
Hi Sue I like the part about gathering all of the ingredients and the things that you need even the pan. I really like this one because at least you are putting things in motion and creating some momentum. Thanks for this insight and approach. 🙂
Thanks for the comments! 🙂
I like Helen Keller’s quote – perfect for those days you feel overwhelmed.
