labyrinth2This picture shows you the wonderful labyrinth my brother Mike made. He surprised me with it just this last week.

It was actually more like, shocked me. It was in a huge box and the labyrinth itself is about 26" across. It is so beautiful and comes straight from his heart. He’s very talented with wood and has made me several things over the years which I treasure.

For those of you that don’t know much about labyrinths, they are wonderful. I have been drawn to them over the years.

Labyrinths have one path in and one path out. It’s not like a maze that has paths that take you no where.

There is no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth. There are many descriptions and many ideas. Once you get in front of the labyrinth, follow your heart, listen to your intuition and go where your feet take you.

Here is one way of walking a labyrinth:

  • Set your intent before your start
  • Walk in slowly, releasing anything which no longer applies
  • Once in the center, stop for a brief moment (or longer) and allow messages to come to you
  • Walk out slowly, filling your cells with love and light
  • Once out, turn to thank the labyrinth, the land, Mother/Father Godde, your Angels and Guides and YOU and anyone else you would like

The way I will be using this labyrinth Mike so kindly gifted me, is using a crystal and following the path. I can still set the intent, release which no longer applies, listen, fill with love and light and give gratitude. I’ll just let my fingers and crystal do the walking.

Some labyrinths I’ve enjoyed over the years:

Toby’s labyrinth, Prairie Labyrinth, was the first labyrinth I walked. It was really quite magical. And several years later was able to walk it again. And yes, again it was quite magical. Toby also has Chakra Labyrinth Cards available from her site. Toby’s labyrinth is in Sibley, MO.

Another labyrinth I had visited several times, in WI is Melanie’s Peace Labyrinth. She’s always very gracious in sharing. Melanie’s labyrinth is near Sauk City, WI.

Sinsinawa Mound Center also has a beautiful outdoor labyrinth in case you are in the Sinsinawa, WI area. They also have a gift shop with wonderful bakery items. Yum!!

And now I have a dear friend who has a private labyrinth on her land, here in AZ. There is a picture of it on my Facebook page.

If you are interested in walking a labyrinth, here is the World-Wide Labyrinth Locator link. You should be able to find a public labyrinth to go experience on your own. Maybe you too will find you are drawn to them.

Thank you Mike. What a wonderful gift! I love my labyrinth! And I can walk it in any kind of weather.

If you'd like to know more about what Mike has made, you can find him on his Facebook page.

Angel Blessings to you.
