Many of us don’t take time out of our busy days to allow the feeling of accomplishment to sink in. We have our To Do list and we check things off until the list is complete. And then we start another To Do list.
Why not stop and look at all of the things you’ve checked off your list. Breathe in the sense of accomplishment.
What about those days when the list is quite long and you don’t feel like even starting? Those may be the times when you start with a couple quick and easy items to help get on a roll.
Then, look at the bigger items and maybe break them down into smaller items and start working through them.
What about the days when you have 10 things on your list and 8 of them you don’t even know where to start? Well, you start by sending out questions to others for help with the 8 while you start working with the 2.
As you check of your items or cross them off the list because now those items are complete, celebrate your successes and really feel what the sense of accomplishment feels like.
Stop what you’re doing for just 2 minutes and breathe in that feeling – Wow, look at all I’ve accomplished.
Maybe tomorrow, after your 4th or 5th item on your To Do list add something like:
- Celebrate accomplishments
- Go for a walk
- Meditate for 10 minutes
- Read 5 pages in a book
- Take a break
- Enjoy what you have completed 🙂
We need to celebrate our successes, whether they are big or small. The picture I’m using today is one of my accomplishments. My first successful batch of Kombucha. And wow is it tasty!! 🙂
Right now, sit back and realize all you have accomplished today. Feel what that feels like. Breathe it in and enjoy it.
I bet it will bring a smile to your face.

At the end of April, I will be celebrating another accomplishment. As you can see below, I’m starting another Ultimate Blog Challenge for the month of April. I will be celebrating my successes along the way!!
Angel Blessings to you.

Sue, this is so very true. Taking time to acknowledge your accomplishments is almost better than stopping to smell the roses! It solidifies our sense of accomplishment, to know that we actually did do something in the past hour, the past day.
Great words to read on this first day of April.
Thanks Peggy Lee!! 🙂 Good luck on the UBC – Woo Hoo!!
Good idea. I get overwhelmed with my to do list. Instead of just checking off items, I will celebrate, too. Maybe do a happy dance.
I’ll do a happy dance too!! Get ready, set – dance!! 🙂
Meditation is my favorite form of exercise. It induces relaxation and it helps guide me to make the right decisions. Loved your post!
Thank you Rebecca. I agree on meditation. I just did a short one but also received the guidance I was searching for 🙂
Lovely post Sue, and good luck for the UBC. I look forward to your posts.
It is very important to celebrate our successes. I love your suggestions and will give them a go.
