Today’s blog is a couple of cards I pulled from one of Denise Linn’s decks called Soul Coaching. When the first card came up I thought, hmm, maybe I’ll pull a different card. I thought about it for a few seconds and then decided, no, this is the card that is meant to come up today. However, I did choose to pull a second card with it. That feels right!
Committing to something takes discipline, but it also takes believing. Believing could be in yourself or another person or believing in what you are doing. If you aren’t all in, with your belief, your focus, it’s difficult to commit.
In your life right now, are there things that you just don’t feel committed to? Is it because you are no longer passionate about them or is it because you don’t believe? If this feels like it’s striking a nerve, that’s something to really look at. Take some time to yourself and explore how you feel about it, what it means in your life and what it would mean if it wasn’t in your life right now.
Are there things in your life you don’t believe in? And truly, if you don’t believe in something, how could you be committed to it? Take some time to really look at that as well.
These two cards play well together. When you believe in something, you can easily commit. When you commit your whole self into something, you truly believe.
Take some time to journal, to meditate, or go spend some time in nature. If it’s too cold to get out, spend some time looking out the window. Go have coffee with a friend to get an objective point of view. Really take a look at what is in your life you are no longer committed to or no longer believe in. Maybe it’s time to let them go so the things you truly believe in, you can now make a full commitment to.
Affirmation for today’s blog: “I believe in my commitments and they increase my joy and freedom.”
