UBC1Today is the first day of the new year, 2013. WooHoo!! In some ways it is what we have all been waiting for. We found out the world didn’t end on December 21, 2012 :). That’s good because we are still here, so let’s get on with the new year!

New years have so much promise and excitement in them. It’s not only a new day, but a  whole bunch of new days! It’s as though we can clear the slate from last year and start fresh and clean with this year, making it what we want.

And 2013 is all about manifesting the ultimate life you want.

There’s a quote I love and it seems to fit quite well here:

Life is a blank canvas, and you need to throw all the paint on it you can.

~Danny Kaye

I always imagine myself as a little girl of 3-4 years old, standing in front of a canvas much larger than I am. I’m barefoot, outside in the sunlight in a summer dress. I squat down to the bowls of different colored paints and dip my fingertips into each bowl, one at a time. I'm giggling with delight, toss my hand toward the canvas, not to touch it, but to have the paint from my hand drip onto the canvas. And then run over to a bucket of water to clear my hand of this color and pick a different one.

I do this over and over until I feel there are enough spots and sprinkles and drizzles and drips of paint.

And then I clear my hands once again, only to go get paint on my palms and the inside of each and every one of my fingertips to put my whole handprints of color onto the canvas. This time not washing my hands in between the colors but letting the next color incorporate into the one already there.

And when I’ve gone through all the colors with my handprints, then I sit back and giggle and laugh and enjoy my work of art.

Each day is like this blank canvas. We can choose to laugh, we can choose to enjoy what we are creating. We can toss the paint before us each day to see where it will land and how it will land. And we can choose to fill our palms full of color and joy and leave our handprints out in the world, for others to see, for others to enjoy. And we can choose to giggle with delight and enjoy what we are creating, as it’s being created and then bask in the beauty of our creation.

What will you fill your blank canvas with today?

Angel Blessings to you.
