Today we wish to speak of being kind … to yourself. Yes, you heard that correctly.
Many times, you leave yourself at the bottom of the list when it comes to being kind. Some of you are hard on yourself when it comes to ‘negative’ self-talk. Some of you are harsh when it comes to ‘I should be doing this instead of that.’ Some of you beat yourself up when it comes to taking care of your needs ‘I’m tired, I need to sit for a bit’ or ‘I’m thirsty, I could use a glass of water’ or ‘fill in the blank for what you may do.’
Being kind to yourself is in the same vein as having compassion for yourself or self-love or nurturing yourself. So why is it that many of you have a difficult time of it?
For many, it boils down to not feeling worthy of it, feeling as if you are not deserving.
We say, you are worthy and you definitely are deserving. Close your eyes a moment and imagine the most beautiful flower you have ever seen. Its color is the richest of any color you have ever seen. The aroma is soft and lingers as if you are holding the flower. The flower brings out a smile in all who see it.
That is how we see you. Breathe in this magnificent flower’s beauty and scent and know, you are worthy and you are loved. Be kind to yourself and be extra gentle in the days and weeks to come.
