Dear Ones,
Today we speak of giving. When you give, whether it be a gift for a birthday or a special day, or a gift of ‘just because’, do you give it freely and with no expectations?
What we are speaking of is this…
When you give a gift to someone, do you have an expectation tied to the gift that the person will:
- like the gift
- wear the gift
- display the gift in some way
- be excited about the gift
- keep the gift (forever…)
Those are all expectations, tied to the gift.
How differently it would feel to give simply for the joy in the giving. Yes, the joy is in the giving.
Next time you are ‘giving’ a gift, come from the heart, with no expectations, with no attachments of ‘I must give a gift’, 'they must like the gift', etc. Give the gift freely and whatever they do with the gift is up to them – it is after all, a gift.
Enjoy the giving.
