Dear Ones,

 

Today we speak of rhythm. There is a rhythm to you as humans, there is a rhythm to nature, to Gaia, to the animal kingdom, to the oceans.

 

When you are in rhythm, you are moving with the flow. The times you feel you are getting knocked against the waves or worse yet, knocked against the jagged rocks on the side of turbulent waters, you are going against your rhythm. It’s time to get with the flow and get back into it, rather than fighting against it.

 

What does that mean, what does that look like, what can you specifically do about it?

 

~ Breathing for starters. When you feel you are going against the natural rhythm of things, stop and take a few deep breaths. Pay attention to how you are breathing throughout your day.

 

~ Get up when you wake and go to sleep when you are tired. Do this as much as you can so your body can get back into it’s own sleeping rhythms, it’s own patterns. When you awake with an alarm, your body is thrown into high alert right from the start. When you are unable to sleep when you are tired it throws your body into a type of overdraw.

 

~ Eat when you are hungry. When you were children, you would eat when the lunch bell would ring. It did not matter whether you were hungry or not. Pay attention to when your body is hungry and also pay attention to what your body is asking for. Is it protein, is it sweets or salty or both. What works for you may not work for others. 

 

Yes, these three sound very simple and yet these are what you get out of rhythm with the most.

 

Watch and listen to the rhythms your body is telling you. Your body knows what is right for you.
