Today we wish to see what kind of world ‘you’ are living in.
What we mean by this is not the collective you, but you individually. Where do you put your focus? What are the things you notice in your life? What is the attitude you are projecting out to the world?
An easy way to start noticing is to notice your thoughts and your words. You may want to keep a journal or have a notepad handy. Jot down some phrases you use a lot throughout the day. Take note of what your emotions are at the time as well. The two go hand in hand.
An example that many of you can relate to is if it is raining.
- Does that ruin your day of plans and you get frustrated and angry about it?
- Are you grateful for the rain and do something different, cheerfully?
- Maybe a combination of the two?
We would like you to take notice of things like this and see how you are handling things. Do you get easily frustrated if things do not go your way or do you let it slide off your back and move on to something different?
There is no right or wrong answers. This is just an awareness activity. And along with that, notice your feelings, your emotions. Also notice, if you are easily frustrated or moved to anger, is it an emotion that hangs with you for much of your day.
As you are moving and shifting from a place of frustration, look for all of the things that have gone right for you for the day or in that situation. The more you can focus on what did go the way you anticipated or ended with the result you wanted — feeling happy, joyful, cheerful — the better. Take notice of how you got to your ‘happy place’ as well.
The more you can see things from a positive perspective or even from a place of neutral [no emotion] the better for you overall. Moving emotionally to the positive side of the mix.
