Today we wish to speak of rhythm and flow and how to bring more of it into your life.
First, think of things you know of that have rhythm and / or flow:
- a stream or small river
- a gentle breeze
- your heartbeat
- the beating of a bird’s wings as it’s taking off in flight
- watching a well-matched tennis match
Each is unique in its own way. Imagining any one of them for a few moments at a time, will bring you back into a space of your own rhythm, your own flow. Take the flow of a stream as an example.
Imagine how the water moves. It moves in and out of all the nooks and crannies along the way. It speeds up at times and slows at others yet there’s a gentleness about it as if there is no rush. There is a soothing to your inner flow whether you are thinking about it or actually watching a stream.
You may notice things floating by, a leaf, a bug, a twig. You just watch them as they continue on their way down the stream.
Whenever you need a break from your day, pick something, to bring you back to your rhythm. Do something or close your eyes and allow your imagination to take you to where you are back in your flow. Do this several times a week, daily if possible. The more you do it, the easier it is to stay in the flow no matter what is coming your way.
