Power Down

Have you ever had one of those days where the universe is telling you over and over to ‘Power Down’? 

Saturday was one of those days. I was having a nice leisurely morning working on redoing some flyers and all of a sudden the house is noticeably quiet. I look up from my laptop and look around wondering what just stopped and why. I realized the fan had gone off so I got up to go see why. I knew I didn’t have it on timer. 

The power wasn’t working and what I discovered is it wasn’t just a fuse, it was the whole house, the whole neighborhood.

Well, you can’t print anything without power and I couldn’t heat up my tea without power. So maybe I need to power down.

How often do we take time away from electronics and technology and just be? I know I sure don’t. So me and many other people were having our power down for a bit so we could just be and if not that, at least find new ways of doing things if even for a little while.

You may be asking what did I end up doing then since I had no power at home? I went down to the Co-Op and hung out before my shift started. It was being in the moment and enjoying the company of others. Not hung up on having my day go the I planned.

Take some time to power down, get away from your phone, your laptop, your normal routine.
