Have you ever felt like there’s something just beyond your reach? Though you look and try to find it, it’s gone before you can touch it? Or it's just in the shadows beyond? This isn’t the same feeling as when you can’t find your car keys.
It’s the feeling you get when you know there’s something waiting just around the bend and you just have to have patience. You know the more you seek, the more elusive it becomes.
That’s what I’ve been feeling lately.
Do I know what it is? Not exactly. Is there anything I can do about it? Well, I could sit back and allow it to come in when it’s ready.
Or, I could do something else. Have you ever noticed that when you’re looking for the solution, when you do something totally unrelated, the answers start flowing?
I think ‘this’ is like that. So today I’ve been focusing on some other things – helping a friend with some edits, creating a document for hospice, working on a survey for a group I’m a member of. It’s still there, just out of reach…
Here’s what’s on my agenda for the next few days to help this elusive thought or idea get a little closer and allow it to come into existence:
Meditation. This is always helpful to quiet the mind, focus on your breathing and let the thoughts and ideas just float into your mind. I do meditate, but this calls for more meditation.
Exercise. A walk or a bike ride (early morning or evening of course) are beneficial to put the focus on something else, to clear the head and allow ideas to take shape.
Walking a labyrinth. I don’t have one in my backyard as some folks I know, but I do have the beautiful wooden labyrinth Mike (my brother) had made for me. It’s great for using a finger and ‘walking’ the labyrinth that way.
Nap. Naps are always in order. They help clear your mind in oh so many wonderful ways. And you just never know what information you might get while you’re napping.
Packing. Yes, packing is what I’ve had going on again. I’m moving, this time a much shorter distance (15 miles). Packing is a bit monotonous and takes your mind off other things and that’s when solutions and new ideas can pop in.
Have you ever felt this way? Something just out of reach yet you know it’s there? What works or has worked for you to help bring it to fruition?
Add your comments below. I’m sure your ideas will help another along their way.
Angel Blessings to you.
