I was guided to come to one of my favorite places to eat, have a cup of coffee and write today's blog. It wasn't raining when I decided to leave, but that's OK. It's still warm and I have a raincoat. 🙂
Before I get into the topic of intention today, I want you to know something about me. I believe we each have a responsibility about our future. Ours personally and ours as the collective. Since we are all connected, we all have a piece of the pie. You may feel I've talked about the same thing in different ways in the past-you are correct. Are there still many negative attitudes, low vibration thoughts out there-yes. I'm saying it in different ways, at different times, to reach as many people as I can. I want you to really get that what you think, what you say and how you act does matter to you and those around you! And, what you focus on, you attract, so why wouldn't you want to focus on positive-thoughts, actions, intentions…
Today I want to talk about intent / intention. There is so much we can do with our intention! Positive affirmations are different than intent, though they could work nicely together as a team.
With a positive affirmation, you are looking to change your thoughts or attitude or maybe even a habit by repeating a statement as if you had already realized the change. And positive affirmations are always in the positive 🙂 of course. I've written about positive affirmations several times, the first article being 21 Day Challenge.
Intent goes much deeper. It's similar to a goal.
So today in my meditation, the intent that came through for the Spring Equinox (March 20, 12:14am CDT) was this:
Open your heart
Open your mind
Believe it is so
Trust in your soul
With this or any intent, you can add positive affirmations to go with each line, to go with the combination, however you would want.
Why is intent so important? It helps set the stage. It is like the path you see before you is the intent and the affirmations are the added scenery.
Do you ever wake up in the morning thinking what a crappy day it's going to be? You are setting the intent first thing, about your entire day. And if this is where your focus is, chances are in your favor you will have a crappy day.
Having an intent that is the 'crappy day' type is a low vibration. And as we move into the higher vibrations of 2012 and beyond, we need to take control of where we are each going and having a higher vibration intent 'today will be a productive day' will help us all on our path.
Think about your lower vibration intent like blowing cigarette smoke on others. Yes, you have much more power with your thoughts, your words, your intent than you may realize. Think again to the pond I talked about in More Light to the World. The ripple effect we can have with our higher vibration is awesome!
If you are having a day that has the appearance of being 'bad', maybe you had a flat tire on the way to work, maybe you got caught in the rain, get over it! Maybe you had a flat tire to avoid an accident ahead. Maybe you got caught in the rain because there's some stinkin' thinkin' that needed to be removed.
Have your intention be positive! Add positive affirmations to help with your intent. If you see someone who seems down, help bring them back up.
I heard something over the weekend – if you want to get out of your pitty-party, help someone else. If you want to get out of your negative attitude, make someone laugh.
There are some who may be thinking there's so much negativity around them they don't know how to get out of it. I challenge you (you know I like challenges) to make a list of all the times you are adding to the negativity with your thoughts or comments like:
- you know what the problem is…
- I'll never be able to…
- but – anytime there is a but in the sentence beware. In fact, stop talking before the but
- it's the economy, or my neighbor, or my career
Set the intention to bring more joy to others and it will rub off on you. For every negative or low vibration comment you make, add 3 positive or high vibration comments. Start now! Before you know it, you'll be spreading sunshine like I do! 🙂
Angel Blessings to you.
PS The sun is shining again :)!
Sue — Thanks again for a cheery and helpful post. I’m struck with this phrase that you wrote: “It is like the path you see before you is the intent…” When that path is positive and clear and vivid, and you know that the intent will lead to something good, then I think it there is a great deal of hope in the air as well. And when I say “hope,” I’m talking about an confident belief that things are going to turn out OK. Or better than OK, right? 🙂 Its that feeling that we are going in a good direction. So I like the analogy of a path.
You are welcome. I’m glad it is ‘hopeful’ and having the intent puts you on the path you need to go 🙂 No matter what, we learn – something. And for me, the more I take a good/bad approach, it just is – helps…
Je voudrai vous dire que c'est constamment un bonheur de vous lire
I would like to tell you that it is always a pleasure to you
