I’ve been very contemplative over the last few weeks. Going through things seeing what to pack up and take with me, seeing what to let go of, gift, share, pass on, definitely brings up emotions. And sometimes thoughts of ‘what was I thinking’ – haha.
The Goodwin fire near Prescott, has also brought up some things for me. I had three cousins who died in a house fire many years ago. I remember my mom coming into my bedroom early in the morning to see if I had any clothes I could give to any of the other kids because the house and all their belongings (from what I remember) were all gone.
It was on July 4th and was due to some passer-by being careless with a firecracker. I’m really not thrilled with people setting any kind of firecrackers off in the neighborhood.
Michael went back in after Barbara and Frederick and the three did not come back out.
Although house fires are undeniably tragic, this incident taught me just how important it is to have a working smoke alarm in your home. Put simply, a properly installed and maintained smoke alarm is considered to be one of the best means of providing an early warning of a potentially deadly fire. Another thing this time of year brings up for me is July 2 is when my mom passed. Yesterday was 43 years.
I wanted to see if the Angels would share some special words, for me, for you, for all of us who have Loved Ones who have crossed.

We stand beside you as you are thinking of your Loved Ones. We know your memories bring up emotions, some happy, some sad and everything in between. Memories do keep your Loved Ones alive in your hearts, for they truly are ‘alive’ with energy, just in another form.
When you think of your Loved Ones, bring in their smiles and their laughter. Bring in the joy they brought to your life and those around them. Bring in the excitement you had when surprising them or sharing something special. Bring in the love.
All of these feelings and emotions are real, just as real as your Loved Ones are.
The connection with them is still here and always will be. As you think of them and share the memories, your Loved Ones feel your loving energy and they return their love to you.
